A Posse ad Esse- Proposal

Project 3-Final Proposal

Title: A Posse ad Esse
Tagline: From being able into being (Trans. of Latin title)
Approximate Running Time: 1 minute
Medium/Media: Oil in water, charcoal, paint, lights, textures, watercolors, video, and drawn animation
Target Audience: All ages
Mood: Pleasant/Whimsical
Themes: Creativity, Exploration, Triumph, Imagination
Characters/Visual elements: charcoal fish swimming, little girl, variety of textures, mostly black and white with selective color, bubbles, lights blinking and moving, painted jellyfish and octopi, ink structures
Story/Structure Outline:
It begins with a little girl in darkness. She begins to move as though she’s shaping something out of nothingness and a charcoal goldfish emerges from her hands. She widens the distance between her hands and the fish grows enormous. She jumps onto it’s back and as the fish swims through the blackness, she forms more things out of nothing: more goldfish, jellyfish, octopi, buildings, giant bubbles, magic lights, and more. The world around her becomes more and more colorful until she has created a paradise.

Other Notes/Comments:
Mostly an exploration piece, I want to work with a wide variety of mediums to produce a unified film.
